Asbury Park Music Foundation is proud to be participating in Independent Venue Week, a 7-day celebration of small music venues around the country and a nod to the people that own, run and work in them, week in, week out. Over 200 shows will be featured in independent venues during the week of July 8 to 14. APMF joins The Saint in Asbury Park and White Eagle Hall in Jersey City to represent NJ venues.

The show on Friday, July 12 at the AMPF space on Lake Avenue is presented by Gardenstatehiphop.com & Makin Waves and includes a donation to benefit Asbury Park Music Foundation’s Hip Hop Institute and Beat Bus. A special set will open the show with a performance by students of the Hip Hop Institute, APMF’s after-school music program for under-served teens in partnership with Lakehouse Music Academy and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County.

5:30 p.m. – Doors open with DJ Ronny Rayz

APMF also is a co-sponsor of the tour, along with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Karma Cartel, Independent Venue Week and Massage by Design.

“This tour will present mixed bills throughout the Mid-Atlantic to promote interracial relations, unity and harmony, while providing a great experience to deserving acts who lack the representation to schedule and promote an effective tour,” the organizers said. “Together, we have been able to do just that with very limited resources and means, but with a whole lotta soul.”
