BIG NEWS! The Asbury Park Concert Band is moving back to their original home for their final shows this summer!
Join us on Thursday, August 25th, at the Arthur Pryor Bandshell on the 5th Avenue pavilion above Iron Whale. The music starts at 7PM and the final free family-friendly show is “Salute to America.”
The newly restored bandshell was originally built in 1962 as a replacement for the original uncovered bandshell that had been on Eighth Avenue. The entrance is on Ocean Avenue next to the Iron Whale. There is an elevator and steps located on the south side of the 5th Ave Pavilion.
The City of Asbury Park has graciously donated use of the bandshell for these shows, which the APCB and the Asbury Park Music Foundation greatly appreciate. Without their support and the support of the American Federation of Musicians and all our sponsors these events and others like it would not be possible.
Questionable weather? Our conductor makes the call by 4pm on the day of the show. Please be sure to follow APMF on Facebook and Instagram or check the conductor’s Facebook page John Luckenbill Bands – Asbury Park and Belmar.
Asbury Park Concert Band
The Asbury Park Concert Band will perform every Thursday evening in July and August at 7:00 PM in Bradley Park, across from Convention Hall. Now in its 77th season, the band offers a varied musical selection from marches, classical, jazz, dixieland, opera, and big band to Broadway. Several concerts each year feature students from Monmouth County schools who perform along with the professional musicians. These popular shows provide students from middle to high school age a chance to fine tune their skills and experience performing in a professional setting. Donations to support this program are appreciated.
