Grammy-winner musician, producer, songwriter and actor Wyclef Jean shared an afternoon with young, aspiring musicians of Asbury Park this past week. Jean, who is performing at the Asbury Park Music + Film Festival on April 28th at the Stone Pony, started his visit at Lakehouse Recording Studio with a dozen kids from the Hip Hop Institute at the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth and from Lakehouse youth music programs. He explained his creative process and did a live recording to show how new songs emerge from jamming and creating a “vibe”.

The visit then moved to APMF’s new Beat Bus mobile recording studio where kids remixed Wyclef’s song “Warrior.” The evening ended with an interview with Beat Bus instructor Ryan Gaumond session at the APMF performance space along with Q&A for the 50+ people in attendance.
