Winter blues got you down? Waiting and WAITING for more live music to crank up? We can help! Our new virtual music series, Sunday Sounds, features video performances from three of our popular APMF series: Sunday Sessions, Music Mondays in Springwood Park, and Sundays on St. John’s.
While there is no cost to view our streams, all donations and merchandise purchases are appreciated and necessary in order to keep our kids music programs and initiatives funded! Tell your friends, gather your besties and join us every Sunday at 3pm EST during the months of March, April and May!
Sunday Sessions
This intimate 90-minute acoustic storyteller series was created in an effort to raise funds and bring awareness to our mission and to our physical location on Lake Avenue in
Asbury Park. These sold out shows took place in the Spring and Fall months and included quick Q&A/interviews hosted by local musicians. Bobby Bandiera served as the series’ primary host for most of the shows and also joined the featured performers (sometimes collaborating musically for the first time), making these shows even more special. Additional hosts included Eddie Testa, Tony Palagrossi and Jon Leidersdorff hosting performers like Bandiera, Steve Forbert, Jeffrey Gaines, Anthony Krizan, Vini “Mad Dog” Lopez, the Scotch Plainsmen, and Arlan Feiles and JT Bowen.
Music Mondays at Springwood Park
This free live music series is held in Springwood Park on the west side of Asbury Park each summer. The series was developed to give residents and visitors the opportunity to see a variety of top-notch live music every Monday during the summer months. Music Mondays celebrates diversity and gives attendees the opportunity to see and experience why Asbury Park is a premier music destination in the country. Past performers have included Louis Prima Jr., Remember Jones, Ray, Goodman & Brown, JT Bowen & the Red Bank Rockers, Gary US Bonds, and Layonne Holmes & Motor City Revue.
Sundays on St. John’s
This acoustic outdoor series is held on Asbury Park’s hidden gem, St. John’s Island, in the middle of Sunset Park. The series was created in the Fall of 2020 to support our musicians and to keep the youth programs going in the wake of the pandemic and the loss of substantial funding. Masks and socially distanced seating were required at all shows and tickets sold out quickly. Audiences were treated to powerhouse performances by Steve Forbert, Glen Burtnik, Pat Guadagno, Jackson Pines, Emily Grove, Sandy Mack, and country newcomer Connor Myers.
